An ECU remap — also known as chip tuning or engine remapping — adjusts the software parameters stored in your vehicle's Engine Control Unit. Every modern vehicle has an ECU that controls fuel injection timing, boost pressure, ignition advance, and dozens of other variables that determine how your engine performs.
Manufacturers programme these parameters conservatively to account for varying fuel qualities, extreme climates, and long service intervals. A Stage 1 remap recalibrates these values to unlock the performance your engine is mechanically capable of delivering — without any hardware modifications.
Our mobile technicians carry out the remap at your home or workplace — no need to visit a workshop. The process typically takes 1–3 hours and is fully reversible.
Our database contains estimated gains for over 9,842 engine variants across 88 manufacturers.
Most turbocharged vehicles see significant gains because the ECU can safely increase boost pressure, optimise fuelling, and adjust ignition timing within the engine's mechanical limits.
20–35% gains on turbo diesel, 15–25% on turbo petrol engines.
Reduced turbo lag and sharper pedal response in everyday driving.
More torque at lower RPMs means less throttle to maintain speed.
Software-only modification — no hardware changes required.

Turbocharged diesel engines are widely regarded as the best candidates for remapping. Modern common-rail diesels have extensive electronic control over fuel pressure, injection timing, and boost, commonly delivering 50–80 BHP and 100–150 Nm of extra torque.
Turbocharged petrol engines also respond well, particularly modern direct-injection turbo units. Gains are slightly lower in percentage terms, but the improvement in drivability is equally noticeable.
Naturally aspirated engines see more modest gains of 5–15%. Without forced induction the scope is more limited, though improvements to throttle mapping and ignition advance can still enhance the driving experience.
